Stonebridge Action Trust

We were responsible for the design of forty new build flats for Stonebridge Housing Action Trust to a budget of £1.85 million for a D&B contract. This prominent urban site, though bounded by a busy road, is very green, with large mature trees. We complemented this context by proposing bold four storey pavilions each containing eight flats. This created a strong edge to the recreation ground, whilst shielding the family housing on the rest of the site from the road. The five pavilions of flats form a perforate screen, with glimpses of the existing trees framed by new planting. The first pavilion was handed over August 1999.
