Southey Road is a Regency house in South London. The end gable wall to the house had suffered from subsidence and needed rebuilding so at the same time the clients sought to add windows in the bedroom and re-model the dining room and kitchen. There was also a lean to addition to the ground floor kitchen which was a former covered balcony but which had been badly incorporated within the old kitchen. The new plan allowed new large doorways to open the dining area onto the garden with steps from a deck down to the main garden level. The former family bathroom was internal whereas the ensuite bathroom had the window. We changed this so that the family bathroom got the window and a new rooflight was added for the ensuite.
